1986 - Our 25th Reunion - Part 1

25th Silver Anniversary Reunion

The Moline High School Class of 1961 25th Silver Anniversary Reunion was held on June 6 and 7, 1986. For this reunion, we had a Mississippi River boat ride on the "Princess Riverboat" out of Moline, Illinois, on Friday, June 6. John Simon provided the music with a baby grand piano from his Moline store. During the cruise on a beautiful summer's evening, hors d'oeuvres and refreshments of beer, wine, and sodas were served. Our main reunion was held on June 7 at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, Illinois. This was our largest reunion gathering ever with 121 classmates and 88 spouses/guests attending for a total of 209 people. We took 2 group photos, and then had a wonderful buffet dinner. A Dee-Jay provided songs from the fifties and sixties and our classmates danced the night away. This was the first reunion where we used a computer to manage mailings, registrations and name tags.
