J. Eugene “Gene” Penner, 82, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at his home.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00pm Monday, March 10, 2025 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Private burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials can be made to a Garden Club of your choice.
Gene was born May 31, 1942 in Iowa City, the son of Jacob E. and Gleda O. (Ingle) Penner.
Gene worked for Hagemeyer Tool Supply Company. He was a Master Gardener and belonged to the Silvis Gardening Club.
Survivors include his sister, Myrna (Dave) Houdyshell, East Moline and brothers, Ronald Penner, Tucson, AZ and Daryl Penner, Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents, life partner of 45 years, James Salesman and brother, Preston Penner.
