Maryetta Longnecker Harper
Mary Etta Harper, of Sammamish WA, died on Tuesday, August
31st, 2021. She was 79 years of age.
Mary was born on March 18th, 1942, in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of
Porter and Ruth (Staley) Longnecker. Mary spent her younger years in West Plains
until the age of 6 and then finished off her youth years in East Moline,
Illinois where she graduated from United Township High School in 1960. She then
served in the US Airforce where she met her husband of 60 years Phillip (Tom)
Harper. She moved to Redmond WA in 1974 and worked for the Issaquah Post office
for 27 years while raising her four children Debbie, Brian, Connie and Eric.
She was a member of Jobs Daughters, Rebeccas, Eastern Star, Rainbow, DeMolay,
and Oddfellows.
Throughout her life Mary was kind to all and looked to help anyone in need of
food, clothing, shelter or just someone to talk to. She was loved by many and a
friend to all. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Phillip (Tom) Harper;
her children Debbie (David) Beers, Brian (Debbi) Harper, Connie (Rob) Harrington
& Eric (Deb) Harper ; 11 grandchildren, Joshua (Maddie) Smith, Stacie (Ron)
Coates, Samantha Beers (Antonio Bojorges), Nathan (Erika) Harper, Michael
Harper, Amanda Harper, Ronnie (Taylor) Basinger, Tyler Harrington & Jesse
Harrington; great grandchildren, Maxwell, Ashton, Jayden, Maddox, Addilyn,
Victoria, Rosalie, Grady, Finley, Rowan and Bodie; her siblings, Pat (Scott)
Frazelle, Jim (Connie) Longnecker, Mearle (Sheryl) Longnecker, Clara (Jerry)
Miller, & Mark (Kari) Longnecker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Porter and Ruth (Staley) Longnecker,
her brother, Larry Longnecker, her grandson Justin Smith and her granddaughter
Kristyn Harper.
The family will be having a private memorial at Tahoma National Cemetery
celebrating her life.
The family suggest remembrances be sent to Phillip Harper for a scholarship fund
that is being set up through Oddfellows in Mary Harper’s name. Please no
flowers.
