Phyllis J. Suhr, 71, Coal Valley, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Phyllis Anderson was born April 21, 1942, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Danelia Beezley Anderson. She attended East Moline School. She married Leonard Suhr on Sept. 27, 1959, at Watertown Baptist Church, East Moline.
Mrs. Suhr had worked at the former State Bank of East Moline from 1973 until 1979 and at Wareco in Moline and East Moline from 1979 until 1996. She had also worked at the East End Bolder's Club, Moline, O'Melia's Supper Club and Allsteel from 2003 until 2007. She was a member of the East End Club, had been PTA president when her children were in school and enjoyed playing rolle bolle and painting.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard; children and spouses, Ken and Cathy Suhr, Decatur, Ill., Leroy and Crystel Suhr, Parnell, Iowa, Karen and Mike Motley, Rock Island, and Carl and Dawn Suhr, Milan; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Julia Anderson, Moline.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Anderson; and infant brother Ivan Kyle.
