Obituary for Beatrice Marie Olson
On this day we lay to rest (Miss B) Beatrice Marie Olson.
Born July 19th, 1942, to Ida Wilson and James Wilson.
She was sick a lot as a little one and lived with her grandpa Sabe Polite till
her teen years. Sabe was apart of GA. And was the only black member at United
Township High School in East Moline, IL. Beatrice lost her left leg during her
senior year but graduated. Afterwards she moved to Chicago with her Aunt Dorothy
Burrel to become a beautician. In 1964, she met James J. Olson at a club where
her Aunt Esther was singing. They met and married in San Francisco California
after James completed Palmer College. Married 3o years she was determined and a
great storyteller. She played softball and was part of a bowling team. She was a
secretary for Phillips and retired. In her later years she ran Miss B’s in
Bartlesville, Ok and Curley’s Tavern in East Moline, IL.
She has left behind her only child Staci E. Olson; one grandson Xavier James
Olson-Towers; one brother James L. Wilson and his son; a host of nieces and
nephews.
