Drink only bottle water that is opened in your
presence. Never drink tap water.

When traveling to Third World countries contact
your state Department of Health and Federal Department of Health for
immunization requirements. Get all necessary shots.

Take a small bottle of high strength "Pepto
Bismol", and a box of chewable tables. Take along aspirins and allergy
medication.

In tropics, take a hat and avoid prolonged
exposure to sun. Use sun screens whenever possible.

Never eat unpeeled raw vegetables or
fruit. Cooked food will prevent you from getting sick from unaccustomed
(foreign) bacteria in your body.

Take a small first aid kit.

Never take new shoes. Make sure your shoes are
well worn and comfortable.

Take a small bottle of insect repellent to
tropical areas (also Canada and Sweden). Repellant should contain "Deets" additive.

Determine typical weather conditions for area and
time of year that you are traveling and dress accordingly.

Wash hands frequently keep fingers away from
mouth. Bottled hand cleaner is also suggested.

Take Malaria tablets in tropical
areas.

If you have health problems, be sure to check with
your doctor before leaving.

Take a small package of cold medication and motion
sickness tablets.

Take a good comfortable pair of thick soled
walking shoes.

Contact hotel for local medical
assistance.

Check your car and health insurance for overseas
coverage. Take proof of insurance along with appropriate telephone numbers of
insurance agents.
