Luggage Tips
-
Travel
as light as possible. Heavy suitcases are a burden because you will probably
end up carrying them several times during the trip.
-
Use two identification tags on outside of luggage
and one on inside.
-
Always use soft sided luggage. Hard sided units
are easily damaged. Luggage with strong straps and wheels for easy pull along
is preferred.
-
Carry on bag should conform to airline
restrictions.
-
Expensive or good looking luggage after one
overseas trip will look well used. Moderate well constructed luggage is
sufficient. Expensive luggage will make you stand out and this will be
undesirable from a personal security standpoint.
-
Carry a roll of strapping tape in case your
luggage is damaged.
-
Never put money or valuables in your
luggage.
-
To avoid someone accidentally taking your luggage at
baggage claim (because all black bags look the same), distinguish your
luggage with ribbons , brightly colored tags, or stickers
